Besides widely adopted in refined chemistry, pharmaceutical
industry, and pesticide production, DME can replace Freon as
aerosol propellant and refrigerant, or a substitute of LNG as
non-industrial fuels, or substitute of biodiesel as vehicle fuels.
With better combustion property, DME has higher heating efficiency
with exhaust poisonless, safe and clean.
1) As addictive and non-industrial fuel of LPG.
With oxygen molecule, simple composition, short carbon chains,
DME has better combustion performance and higher heating efficiency.
Similar with LPG, DME can be in a gas state after compressed,
which brings continence for using different burners. Furthermore,
it¡¯s safer than LPG in the regard of transportation, storage,
and usage, indicating a broader range for DME as a substitute
of LPG in non-industrial fuels areas.
2) As environmental friendly refrigerant
DME can replace Freon as the refrigerant of refrigerators and
air conditioners, with benefits of lower boiling point, better
vaporing effects, lower prices compared with Freon.
3) As aerosol.
As the aerosol product, DME is widely adopted in production of
pesticide, cosmetics, and daily-used chemical products. DME
can also be used as the engine fuel and additives owning to
its non-erosive and good water solubility properties.
4) As chemical feedstock.
DME can be widely adopted in chemical industry as alkylation
agent and coupling agent. DME is the chemical feedstock for
production of acetic acid, acetate, hydrocyanicacid and formaldehyde.
With higher hexadecane number, DME has greater evaporation power
and can be replaced as automobile fuel, increasing power of engine
by 10% to 15%, increasing combustion efficiency by 2% to 3%,
and reducing combustion noise by 5-10 db. Furthermore, pollutant
emissions including nitric oxide and carbon monoxide are quite
low, satisfying emission standards of III Europe. It¡¯s no wonder
people call it a super-clean fuel. It¡¯s of strategic significance
to China¡¯s future energy outline and the focus area to keep up
with the world trend.
Massive production of DEM is expected in China
and will become an evolving energy in the market.
